It's life, or death
"The rush of battle is often a potent and lethal addiction,
for war is a drug."
This is the opening in the movie "The Hurt Locker"
As everyone knows, it is nominated and won the best motion picture
in the Oscar. And indeed, there's reason for it to win, better
than Avatar.
The Hurt Locker is typically a war movie, and the scenario
is set in Iraq.(but actually it's shot in Jordan)
I think the story very interesting, and I am curious why
the Director would choose such plot and make this movie.
Even I am not a war movie fan, I decide to give it a shot.
and it was great indeed.
This is one of the most dangerous job in the world: bomb disarming.
We all know war is cruel, and it's always life or death moment.
Every minute you are like playing a dice,
One minute ago, happy talking; next minute, pieces of crap.
But it's life. You can choose what kind of life you want,
but you can't choose how it will lead.
War is a drug, the best definition of the Army bomb squad,
even for James himself.
Think, sometimes we will have the same situation, trying to
avoid/face the reality by being addicted to something. Even we
know in the end, we have to face it. However, we rather choose
to stay in the "comfortable zone"
So James goes back to the squad and continues to a new mission.
What have I done to change my life? I often ask myself,
and there are few answers. And I keep doing it.
What have you done to change your life?
Note:
If you are a big war fan, you gotta see it.
If you are not a big war fan, you gotta see it as a non-war movie.
